Who the Kawasaki D-Tracker 250 suits
The D-Tracker 250 is for riders who like a tall, upright supermoto stance and a lively single-cylinder engine. The 249 cc engine makes about 23.7 PS (17.4 kW), the weight is only about 139 kg and the bike has a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The seat is a tall 860 mm, giving a confident, upright riding position, and the handling is nimble — quick to turn and easy to place on winding roads. The supermoto-tuned suspension favours a sharp, sporty feel over soft comfort.
It suits taller riders best and works well for lively rides on winding roads in the hills and along the coast.
When another model is a better choice
The tall 860 mm seat is the highest in our fleet, so check your reach to the ground at pickup if you are under 170 cm. The tank is small — about 7.7 litres — so plan your fuel stops on longer rides.
For comfortable long-distance touring with luggage, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 or the Kawasaki Versys-X 250 are better choices, and for an easier automatic ride a scooter such as the Honda ADV 160 is simpler.
