Who the TVS Ronin 225 suits

The Ronin 225 is for riders who want a versatile everyday motorcycle without the strain of a sportbike. The 225.9 cc oil-cooled single makes about 20.4 PS (15.0 kW) and about 19.9 Nm of torque at only 3,750 rpm, so it pulls from low in the rev range and is especially comfortable in dense city traffic. It has a 5-speed gearbox, a seat of about 795 mm, weighs around 159 kg and holds roughly 14 litres of fuel.

The suspension is softly tuned and absorbs city bumps well. Some versions offer riding modes including one tuned for rain — useful in Bali's climate. Reviews put real-world fuel economy at 35–45 km per litre and regularly mention reliability: owners with over 10,000 km report a smooth engine and a build free of play and rattles. TVS has built two-wheelers in India since the 1980s, the Ronin launched in 2022, and in independent owner ratings its reliability and cost-of-ownership scores are consistently among the best in its class.

A rear rack is available as an add-on. It suits Canggu, Seminyak and Ubud as well as longer rides.

When another model is a better choice

If you want a fully automatic bike, a scooter like the Yamaha Nmax 155 is easier — the Ronin needs a clutch and gear changes.

For aggressive sport riding, look at the MT-25 or the ZX-25R, and for a tall touring bike with boxes included, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 is more comfortable on long routes.
