Who the Yamaha Byson 150 suits
The Byson 150 is for riders who want to try a manual motorcycle without a lot of power. The 150 cc engine makes about 12.8 PS (9.4 kW) and is paired with a manual gearbox; the seat is about 790 mm, the tank holds around 12 litres and the bike weighs about 133 kg.
The bold naked styling gives it a streetfighter look, and the light weight and modest power make it easy to handle around town and on the coast roads. It is an easy bike to learn the clutch on and to park.
It works for riders who have a licence for a manual motorcycle and want something sportier-looking than a scooter without stepping up to a 250 cc.
When another model is a better choice
With about 12.8 PS (9.4 kW) it is not the bike for fast highway stretches two-up with luggage, and it has no boxes available. For touring, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 or the Kawasaki Versys-X 250 are better set up.
If you want a fully automatic bike, a scooter such as the Yamaha Nmax 155 avoids the clutch entirely, and for more power in a naked body see the Yamaha MT-25.
