Who the Yamaha Scorpio 225 suits
The Scorpio 225 is for riders who enjoy a simple, honest motorcycle. The 225 cc engine makes about 18 PS (13.2 kW) with a manual gearbox; the seat is about 770 mm, the tank holds around 12 litres and the bike weighs about 136 kg.
The upright, no-nonsense roadster layout and the torquey single make it relaxed in town and on the coast roads. The lower seat is friendly for shorter riders and the light weight makes it easy to handle.
It is a good choice for riders who want a classic look and straightforward mechanics rather than a high-tech sportbike.
When another model is a better choice
With about 18 PS (13.2 kW) it is not built for long fast highway stretches two-up with luggage. For touring, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 and the Kawasaki Versys-X 250 are better set up, and for more performance see the Yamaha MT-25.
If you do not want to use a clutch, a scooter such as the Yamaha Nmax 155 is simpler.
