Beyond the standard rental, there are a few extras worth knowing about — some are just nice-to-haves, and one of them tends to become non-negotiable once people actually try it.

Extra or Upgraded Helmets

  • Full-face helmet — 150,000 IDR for one, 250,000 IDR for two.
  • New professional half-face helmet — 150,000 IDR each.

The trade-off between the two is simple: full-face helmets run hotter — less airflow, more weight, warmer even on a slow ride around town. In exchange, you get real protection from sun, flying insects, and road dust, and — most importantly — protection for your chin and jaw. The chin and jaw are among the most common impact zones in a motorcycle crash, and that's exactly the part a half-face helmet leaves completely open. That's the actual trade-off, not just "more coverage."

Whether the upgrade is worth it isn't really about distance — it's about where accidents actually happen, and that's usually not a long mountain descent, it's ordinary city traffic: intersections, sudden stops, someone not seeing you at a turn. So the extra protection isn't just for long trips or fast roads, it matters just as much for everyday riding around town.

Our full-face helmets come with two visor options — a dark, sun-shaded one and a clear one — each suited to a different time of day. Easiest is to just carry both and swap depending on conditions.

Bali's roads are dusty and there are plenty of bugs out there — the visor gets dirty fast and needs a bit of care.

🪞 Visor Care

❌ Don't: wipe it dry with a cloth — that guarantees fine scratches, which throw nasty glare off oncoming headlights at night and wreck your visibility.

✅ Do: rinse under running water, inside and out, soap if it's really dirty, and only then wipe it dry with a soft cloth.

⛑ Always ride with your helmet on, and store it somewhere safe when you're not — helmets do get stolen. A SHAD box is ideal for safe helmet storage.

The Rear Box: The One Everyone Ends Up Wanting

If there are two of you on the bike, the additional rear box (200,000 IDR) is, honestly, the upgrade almost nobody regrets. Once people try it, they very rarely go back to riding without one.

Here's why it makes such a difference:

  • Extra storage — a proper place for bags, groceries, a change of clothes, or anything else you'd otherwise be balancing between your feet or wearing on your back.
  • A comfortable backrest for the passenger — you sit as comfortably as in a chair at home, instead of holding on with nothing to lean against.
  • Less strain on your back — not carrying a bag on your shoulders for hours makes a noticeable difference by the end of the day.
  • More stability and a stronger sense of security while riding — the extra weight sits low and centered instead of shifting around on someone's back, and passengers in particular tend to notice this immediately.

If you're planning anything beyond a short trip to the beach — day trips, longer rides through the hills, or riding two-up regularly — the box is basically a must-have for anything long. But even for a short trip, it gives you somewhere to stash your helmet so it doesn't get stolen while you're at the beach or a café — and that alone pays for it many times over.
